An Emerald, Ivory and Gold Romantic Wedding at Hotel X
An Emerald, Ivory and Gold Romantic Wedding at Hotel X
Hotel X is renowned in Toronto as one of the best and most luxurious wedding venues in the city. A newcomer amongst institution venues that have existed for a long time in Toronto, Hotel X has proven itself as an incredible contender based on price, service, delectable food and unparalleled views of the city. Events by Whim recently had the pleasure of designing New Fort Hall for a sweet couple’s celebrations and Kassandra Melnyk Photography captured the beautiful details.
We started with a design consultation where H and I discussed her vision for the day. I love to get into our couples heads a bit so we also chatted about how she and A met and fell in love, and what they hoped to feel at different points during the wedding day. We had such a nice time chatting that the time flew by! We got into deeper details about what they love about Hotel X and how they hope their guests will interact on the wedding day. We loved that they wanted to add in emerald green details because the groom would be wearing an emerald green velvet suit jacket!
Their style honestly is my favourite – very romantic, very modern and very lush! These are the kinds of very’s that make my heart sing! I designed an arch style based on their inspiration that would look beautiful and regal in the 27th floor ceremony space and would frame the Toronto skyline that was playing such an important part of the story for these lovebirds. The arch would then be repurposed behind the sweetheart set up in front of the iconic walls of New Fort Hall.
Their VIP tables, consisting of their wedding party and families, were brought in from Detailz alongside the gorgeous chairs with emerald seats. We wanted their family tables to be lush without obstructing anyones view so we opted for low arrangements and lots of warm candlelight. With New Fort Hall being all glass walls, the candles glowed prettily all evening long.
Finally the guest tables were intimately placed around the room so that guests all had a wonderful vantage point, and we used gorgeous modern taper candelabras with emerald green candles, surrounded by touches of florals to fill the space nicely. Guests were able to converse and enjoy while still having a full and luxurious centrepiece. Final detailings included charger plates, clear chiavari chairs with black seats at the guest tables and beautiful stationery designed by the bride.
A huge thank you to our partner The Dulce Dwelling for bringing our floral ideas to life!
